Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region

120 Northfield Drive, Waterloo | 519-747-0664 | habitatwr.ca

Habitat Humanity is a non-profit organization working toward a world where everyone has a decent and affordable place to call home. With the help of donors, volunteers and partners throughout the region, Habitat can provide a solid foundation for low income families in Waterloo. They also have the ReStore that sells new and used home furniture and accessories at a lower cost. The ReStore also covers ALL administrative costs so any money donated goes directly to rebuilding homes.

Their model is one we truly admire. Instead of giving hand-outs, Habitat provides a “hand up” where the partner with families willing to complete a specific number of volunteer hours, or “sweat equity” and to repay an interest free mortgage.

They’ve helped many families in the Waterloo region, keep it up Habitat!

It’s initiatives like this that help our community run in a positive way and that make us very proud to call KW our home.

Visit us next month for local companies we think are FRESH!
