July is here and if you’re like us, you’re taking full advantage of the nice weather while it lasts #CanadaProblems BUT sneaking away to the lake isn’t always an option, especially during the work week so we came up with a list of some awesome local events to fill your calendar with!
FOOD TRUCK FRENZY AT FOREST HILL UNITED CHURCH
Forest Hill United Church | Mondays from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM
Monday’s are always chaotic, no matter how much prepping and planning you do. We will make any excuses to avoiding cooking dinner, especially on a hot summer night. The Food Truck Frenzy operates for four hours with a minimum of four trucks every Monday so you won’t be short of options!
CRUISING ON KING
Victoria Park | July 12 | 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
If you’re a car lover, a music lover or just have serious FOMO – Cruising on King is a day full of events and fun. Bonus – it’s free! This is the 29th year of hundreds of cars rolling through Victoria Park and to make it extra special, they are celebrated the 50th anniversary of Woodstock with live performances from tribute bands of The Who and Jimi Hendrix. Old school cool.
THE KITCHENER MARKET MID-WEEK MARKET
The Kitchener Market | Wednesday July 17 | 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
A perfect edition to your summer schedule. For four consecutive Wednesdays, the Kitchener Market is throwing a family friendly party where you can pick up your dinner and your supplies for the rest of the week. They have 15 vendors, food hall, live music, chef demos with samples (sold!), a licensed area with local beers and ciders, face painting, and DIY craft classes for kids.
KITCHENER RIBFEST & CRAFT BEER SHOW
Victoria Park | July 19 to 21 | 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Apparently food is a common theme here... Kitchener Ribfest is a summer tradition in the region - throw in beer from some of our favourite local breweries, live music and activities for the kids and you have a perfect weekend! Admission is free and you have three days to soak it up.
REGGAE FESTIVAL
425 Bingemans Centre Dr | July 27 | 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM
I mean, how fun does this sound?! The Kitchener Reggae Festival will be tearing up the Bingemans stage on July 27th with some very well-known acts; Konshens, Gyptian, and Kranium. Tickets are available online for all budget levels.
