International Women’s Day is annually held on March 8 to celebrate women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. With International Women’s Day coming up this weekend, we wanted to use this edition of Local Love to celebrate and share some love for a few local gals that have started thriving businesses here in the KW area. Here are the women that are inspiring us:
Bridgit

Bridgit is a construction software company that was started by Lauren Lake and Mallorie Brodie in 2014. These ladies created a platform geared specifically for folks in the construction industry to better manage their business, to increase speed, efficiency, accountability, and visibility for the entire crew so projects can finish faster. If that wasn't enough, in 2019 Bridgit launched their second platform!
These women have won multiple awards including being named in to the 2019 Forbes Manufacturing and Industry 30 Under 30, and being named to the Best of Canada Forbes Under 30 Innovators list. Well deserved and we are proud to be cheering on our fellow locals.
The Blondes

Is there anything that The Blondes can’t do? Brand strategy, corporate identity, logos, magazines, websites, infographics, brochures, reports, advertising campaigns, packaging, signage and so much more! Julie, owner and creative director turned her passion into a career and assembled a strong team of creative ladies to form The Blondes. This team of gals has been taking risks and creating awesome work since 2003. We LOVE following along their journey and seeing all the cool projects they've been tackling.

Kristin Moore, former elementary school teacher, followed her lifelong passion and creativity to build her own business making beautiful pieces of jewelry for others. In 2017, Kristin took her first metal smithing class at The Studio KW - later that year, she had a stall at a school holiday market selling her pieces and knew that this was what she wanted to do, so Buy Moore was born. She designs, makes, and sells her own products and they are all beautifully unique - she even gets to act as her own billboard! Loving Kristin's story and her work.
